Blog Comments

1. What do you think of our blog?
  • What do you particularly like about it? What's especially impressive?
  • What could be improved? What's missing or could be added?
2. Based on what you've read on the blog (and maybe seen in test screenings in class) what suggestions do you have regarding what we could do to make our Practical Production really successful?
  • What other things could we include in the production?
  • How should we go about filming any remaining scenes or editing the footage during post-production (+ suggestions for music, etc.)?

your blog is looking really cool! i like your background, nice and eye catching.

I like the amount of research you lot have done overall, and i like the rough plan of your documentary, it gives a outline to other people what your blog is all about.

What you can add in your blog are pictures of where you lot have all been for filming. And i like what Barsan said, i agree with her.

Keep up the hardwork! Good luck

1. i like the layout of your blog and the fact that you have posted up video links and pics which compliment your narrative and makes your blog more interesting to read, also your research posted is very detailed.

I think to improve you could maybe post pics up of your shots and locations u chose.

For post production u could use a parallel soundtrack that proves sad but powerful which sends a message like "beautiful" by christina aguilera.

*Your blog looks WaCkY!! lol! i love the way you have added all the images of all the celebrities and all the bright colours you have used to make everything look nice.

*You lot have clearly reasearched about eating disorders really well, amd this means that your production will be really good.

*I think you should add some shots from your interview to the blog.

*For your post production i think you should use a voiceover and at the end show a lot of still images ad talk about how they affect girls and they put pressure on them because they want to be like that...

Good luck hope your final peice looks wicked, good luck with everything..

Your research is good. Today (18-2-07) on MTV there were a lot of eating disorder programmes, if you managed to watch them, or try MTV Overdrive.. you could learn what makes their productions good/bad.

The rough plan of your documentary is good as it gives the audience an outline.

Use reports made, they would be easily found on google.

Perhaps you could compare celebrities from when they were deemed healthy, and to when they have been seen as unhealthy. Also you could talk about the media's influence.

1. I really like the research that you've carried out e.g. magazine frontcovers that you have posted up.
2.You could add more newsreports on eating disorders, due to the fact that it is a big issue in the media today.
3.I think you should use a range of parellel and contrapuntel music in your production.

the blog looks nice, especially the spots and bright colours and good details of what ur doing. the videos shown on the blog are good as well, so as u said u can start filming those videos and put some footage on the blog as other students mentioned in their comments. u can also do some vox pops of people and ask them what they think about eating disorder and what they think of a size "o".
its good taht u have interviews with experts it will really help u. maybe teenage girls to see their opinions.
this vieo will appeal to female audience especially teenagers that care mostly about their looks.
for the post production dont add the whole vido of example the cat walk but do a montage of different videos to see the difference.
apart form that it's good and the topic is interesting.
good luck for the editing

Oooh the blogs looks really good, and ur plan of whats going to be in the documentary really helps the audience how your going about making it.

You guys should make sure that you have male points of view as well...this would help show a different insight of ur documentary.

I think sometimes it would be good to use contrapuntal music, as it would show irony and maybe a sense of humour.

Good blog and an interesting topic. Well done for posting up a rough plan of your doc!

Good use of images. But remmeber some images claiming to be of people with anorexia are not. some are so obviously photoshopd like the final one in your slideshow. Be careful to include only REAL images.

Have a look at this doc called 'dying to be thin' (on the Dot Com blog). Its good and might give you some ideas.

Good luck n well done

I think what will give your documentary a bigger advantage than most of the other documentaries is the fact that the debate on eating disorders is huge at the moment so your doc will be quiet contemporary - just make sure you catch all the debating on this out there.

I like all the research you've done - its all relevant and it all looks very interesting.

I think id have like to have seen some of your footage... but never mind im sure ill get the chance on Monday

And i think the music you choose will have to be picked very carefully. Although you might like Christina Aguilera's song i think maybe you should have something like Kellis's "little star" or even - ive just had an idea... the baby song "twinkle twinkle lilttle star" on at the beginning becuase that will really point out the ironic points of your documentary and place emphasis on the actual subject matter...

1, Good use of colours, fonts and the background making it look very eyecatching. The topics original and you've analysed a range of texts to inform the audience more about the topic. Try and add video clips to the blog aswell.

2. Use a range of shots when filming and always try and use a tripod and avoid zooming in and out

With all the images and colourful writing-your blog looks really good, you’ve put a lot of work into it which is shown via your research.
There was a documentary about how this one website ruined people lives as it told them being anorexic is attractive and cool. It told them ways to become anorexic- as in don’t eat etc and the girls were encouraged to post up pictures of themselves- they look disgusting. The website is Iloveanorexic.com check it out, but I don’t know if it still works because it could have been closed down. Or you could try and find that doc. Hope that helps and overall your blog looks cool.

You have alot of visual images in your blog which is useful to see and it also gives the person viewing the blog a good outline of your producion...however I think that you could add a little more information about the things in your production rather than in other ones. But overall your blog
is looking very good.

The blog looks good and there is a lot of good info on it which gives us a wider understand to ur documentary.

You should consider adding news reports about the subject and maybe even newspaper cuttings. Also add some pictures from where you have already filmed and possibly some footage?

1. Good strong research about a serious topic. Also lots of progress reports show lots of time and effort being put into the production.

2. You could maybe post up some of the footage that you have so far.

3. Using parallell music will make the production both serious and professional

4. Maybe you could emphasisise the serious points by the use of music.

Good luck!

this blog has alot of interesting facts and research. It includes alot of shocking images which gives it that realistic and serious feel.

I think you could cover alot more of the pyschological side to the disorder as it is a major factor to the disorder.

1)YOUVE GIVN REALLY GOOD INFROMATION AND GOOD RESEARCH AND ALSO I LIKE DA USE OF THE COLOURS :d GREAT

2)GOOD CONSICE RESEARCH, WHICH IS GOOD TO HELP THE AUDIENCE UNDERSTAND WOT U DOING.

3)THE SOUND FOR THE DOCUMENTRAY I THINK SHOULD CONTRAPUNTAL BECAUSE WHEN YOU HAVE TO CONTRASTS THE RIGHT ALWAYS LOOKS EVEN RIGHTER SO IT MAK A BIGGER IMPCT ON THE RIGHTOUSNESS.
